Pictograph Newsletter for June 18, 2012
Jun 18, 2012
Andrea Allison This is your last week to view the amazing exhibit of Stephen Emms. It closes on June 23. We are hoping he will be able to do a workshop in October. Some more comments on the show; “I love the water, I can almost smell it. You have caught the essence or spirit of …. a particular location” . Many watercolour paintings I see are smaller in size. I love the large paintings. You can immerse yourself in the painting and feel you are there – you just need a big enough wall space to display it!
The gallery will be closed June 25-29 and will re-open on Saturday June 30 with the opening of Dave Elder’s show “Wooden Woodpeckers and Other Bird Carvings”.
In case you missed it the Gallery is putting out a call for local artists who would like to exhibit in 2014. If you don’t feel you would have enough material for a show, partner with a fellow artist or crafter. It is surprising what you can accomplish when you have the focus (and deadline) of a show before you.
The Gallery Board would like to thank all artists who exhibit in the gallery. It truly is a gift to see what each new show brings. We will be having a one day flea market in September. If you are doing some spring cleaning and find some things are surplus bring them down to the gallery in July. Our student starts July 3 and will be happy to accept them.
The Gallery is open 12 noon-3:00 pm. Tuesday to Saturday on the lower level of the Voyageur Mall.
Thank you for stopping in to see our Gallery and Gift Shop.
We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return.
