Lori McCluskey
Pam Cain’s fascinating show “E nate me” opened on Tuesday, January 10 to more than one interesting comment. You just have to visit the Gallery and see for yourself. Pam has put labels beside each of the pieces that not only explains what the topic of each piece is but they are also in phonetic spelling . This generates “thought”. This is exactly what her show is all about. To quote Pam” The gallery allows for images that are not traditional or commercial, but images with the intent of sparking thought.” Ready for a little brain or should I say “bran” exercise??? Take a few moments to check out the Gallery’s opening show for 2012 . You won’t regret it. Pam’s show runs until Saturday, Feb. 11 at which time you will be able to meet and greet the artist herself. Mark that date on your calendar.

2012 is off to a rolling start. Our anniversary tree is up and waiting to be decorated. We already have a few names on it. Feel like having your name in silver? Then come on down and help the Gallery celebrate it’s 25th Anniversary. Hard to believe that the Pictograph Gallery has been operating for 25 years. Where have those years gone? In future columns we will be retelling the story of the Gallery . If you have any interesting stories about memorable shows that were held at the Gallery or incidents that you fondly recall regarding perhaps a particular artist whose work was on display , anything that might make for a good contribution to our column please contact a Gallery Board member and tell us all about it. We will value your input. Please keep posted for more details.

The Gallery is now back to it’s regular hours. They are Tuesday to Saturday, 12:00 to 3:00pm. We are located in the lower level of the Voyageur Mall.

Thank you for stopping in to see our Gallery and Gift Shop.
We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return.
