Lori McCluskey
Happy New Year!! The Pictograph Gallery would like to extend it's gratitude to the following artisans who by their participation in our Christmas Craft Market made it a resounding success: Many thanks to Andrea Allison, Beth Coulas, Vivian Gilmour, Heather Hosick, Anne Humphrey, Lorena Jaman, Evelyn Konrad, Steve Krasemann, Jerry Lange, Gabrielle Marohnic, Janice Matichuk, Arlene Spilchuk, Wendy Tutkaluk, Sunday Wilde, Carrol Whalley. Once again we sincerely appreciate all your ongoing support as we look forward to the upcoming year.

Speaking of the upcoming year -- "2012" is going to be a very special year for the Gallery. It is our 25th Anniversary and we hope to make it a year long celebration. We are starting off the celebration with a show by Thunder Bay artist "Pam Cain". Her show is entitled "E nat'e me". This is the phonetic spelling of the word anatomy. Got your curiosity sparked?? I hope so. Pam's show will prove to be a thought provoking experience. To quote Pam's artist statement " Just as the land is the structure that forms our world, our anatomy is the structure that forms our selves." This show is well worth a trip down to the Gallery . Pam's show was to open on Saturday , January 7 but due to unforeseen circumstances will not open until the following Tuesday, January 10. It will run until Saturday, February 11 at which time you will have an opportunity to meet and greet the artist .

Just to give you all a sneak preview of our upcoming coming events for 2012 , February - March we will be holding our much anticipated "School Art" show. Following that will be Sandra Pooley's "Needlework" show . You will see some stitchery magic there. Keep an eye out for repeat of the Gallery's "Art, Antique and Collectibles" in May. After which we will be hosting a show by talented artist Steve Emms. July and August we are thrilled to be holding a show by our very own "bird carver" - Dave Elder. August through to September will be a real highlight - Kristy Cameron will be having a return engagement at the Gallery. This will be followed by our " Deals and Steals " Flea Market. We will finish the year off with "The Quilters of Atikokan" show in October and the grand finale of course is - once again, - our Christmas Craft Market to be held in November /December. So 2012 looks very eventful, packed with variety and hopefully well attended and enjoyed by all.

In the new year watch for a continuation of our very popular handcrafted "pop can" cards by Andrea Allison. This time they will be "All Occasion" cards. This is a wonderful fundraising project for the Gallery.

The Gallery is resuming it's regular hours. We are open from Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 to 3:00pm.

We are located in the lower level of the Voyageur Mall.
