This is the last week to view Jerry Lange’s show “Metal Manipulation”. If you haven’t come down yet please do. Many people are intrigued by a piece mounted on board - it is an interesting interpretation/combination of roses and barbed wire. Jerry also has a picture frame with photos of some other larger works he has created. Jerry’s exhibit was assisted by an Exhibition Assistance grant from the Ontario Arts Council. Many thanks to the Ontario Arts Council for assisting our artists in this way. Don’t forget to take a chance on our raffle of a metal candle holder generously donated by Jerry – only a looney gets you a chance.
Jerry’s show closes on October 29 and the gallery will reopen on November 5 with the Christmas Market. We invite all crafters/artists to have their items for sale in our gallery until December 15. The gallery takes 20% commission on sales. You can pick up your Artist/Craftsperson loan agreement lists from the envelopes on the bulletin board at the top of the stairs and also on the bulletin board outside the gallery. In the next issue of the Progress we will give a date you can drop off items and also contact names.
Don’t forget our used book sales. 10 cents per book isn’t very much yet the revenue generated each month is helpful to the gallery. We also thank those who donate used books for our shelves. If we aren’t open when you come, just drop off the books in a bag on the desk outside the gallery and we will place them on the shelves next time we are open.
The Gallery is located on the lower level of the Voyageur Mall. We are open Tuesday-Saturday from noon-3pm. During the Christmas Market we will have extended hours.
