Janice Andrews show "Turning Towards Home" is a must see. Her use of vibrant colors and texture stirs the soul. The most common comment to date is "WOW!". I used that myself when I first laid eyes on these incredible paintings. Janice uses the brush to make a "soul statement". Her comment: "Mystery is evoked through the intuitive space between the real and the abstract , the emotional and the spiritual," gives you a clue as to what you will experience when you view her work. Take a moment to come down to the Gallery and see for yourself. It will stir something deep within you and who knows you might even be motivated to take up the brush yourself and see what you too can create. We all have creative gifts that oftentimes lay dormant waiting to surface if we only will give them a chance. You might just be a budding artist.
The Gallery is also in the throws of preparation for our upcoming "Arts, Antiques and Collectibles" Silent Auction. This fun event is to be held from May 26th to May 29th. There is nothing like an auction to get the competitive juices flowing. We have some amazing items already for your viewing pleasure. It will be a walk down memory lane for some old timers. We also have "question motivators". We will probably be hearing things like "What on earth is that????" . Then some old timer will chime in "Well for heaven's sake, I remember one of those. I remember my dad.........." Keep posted for more details. The Gallery is also looking for more contributions to our Silent Auction. If you have anything hiding in dusty corners that is in the way of Art, Antiques or Collectibles that you just might want to part with please call Lori at 597 2391 or Chris at 597 6569. We will be happy to come and pick them up.
Remember Brian Holden's upcoming print making workshop. This is to be held on June 25 and 26th. Brian is a gifted artist from Thunder Bay and the Gallery is happy to say we will be hosting his show for the month of June. Call Andrea at 597-2554 for more details regarding the workshop.
The Gallery is always looking for more volunteers. Consider the possibility of an afternoon a month taking in such delightful work as Janice's show. Nice way to spend an afternoon.
The Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. We are located in the basement of the Voyageur Mall.
Thank you for stopping in to see our Gallery and Gift Shop.
We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return.
