If you didn't get the chance to personally greet Thunder Bay artist Janice Andrews at her opening on Saturday May 1 then make a point of coming on down to the Gallery to view this talented artist's amazing work.
Janice states: “ I am inspired and awed by the way light reflects and illuminates – be it a sunset or sunlight through clouds reflecting on the lake or the moonlight on snow. “Janice has captured light in her paintings. Take a few minutes to check this out and see what I mean.
And while you are taking the time to have a look at Janice's work also consider the possibility of becoming a member of the Gallery. We are always in need of volunteers. It is a very rewarding way to spend one afternoon a month meeting and greeting the public.
Keep posted because the Gallery will be holding another “Art, Antiques and Collectibles” Silent Auction. The auction will run from May 26 to May 29. This will be the second such event. Last year's was a resounding success and we hope that this year it will be equally successful. The Gallery is presently asking for donations. If you have anything in the way of an interesting or unusual piece of art, or antique or some of Great grandma's knick knacks that are just dust collectors but are also in excellent shape and you would like to help the Gallery with it's fundraising then please call Lori at 597 2391 or Chris at 597 6569. We will be very happy to come and pick up your donations.
The Gallery will be welcoming Brian Holden another Thunder Bay artist who will be having his show in June. He is also going to be holding a workshop on June 25 and 26th. The workshop's topic will be relief block prints. We look forward to learning how to make gorgeous prints under Brian's expert guidance. Janice's show will run until May 22. The Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00pm. We are located in the basement of the Voyageur Mall.
