Pictograph Newsletter for Aug. 10, 2009 Alisha osselin
Last Saturday at the Pictograph Gallery we opened the Quetico Centennial Juried Art Exhibit, while Friday evening we hosted the Awards Gala. The four official judges selected the recipients for the awards, while the artists mingled. With a large array of profound and awe-inspiring works, the judges will have had a hard time choosing a winner for top prize. It’s taken a long time to get everything prepared and set-up for the Opening Reception, and we truly couldn’t have done it without our sponsors and volunteers. I’d like to thank Friends of Quetico, Ontario Parks, Quetico Foundation, and The Ontario Arts Council, as well as the Pictograph Board volunteers, Jonathan Wynn, Alyson Durand, Karen Van Doorne, Elizabeth Fiore, Bob Davidson, Michael Warren, Harold Mosley, Susan Bourne, and the judges; John Rafferty, Louise Thomas, Anne Sicliano and Ann Clarke. If I’ve missed anyone, I sincerely apologize! The exhibit will run until the 29th of August, so come down and view these wonderful works celebrating Quetico’s centennial! We’re open Monday to Saturday, 11 to 4, and we’re located in the lower level of the Voyageur Mall.
Thank you for stopping in to see our Gallery and Gift Shop.
We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return.
