Pictograph Gallery Column for ATIKOKAN PROGRESS – October 26, 2009

“Differences Appreciated” – the works of the 5 L’s – Leanna, Linda, Liz, Lori and Lyla is running until Friday, October 30th, so if you haven’t had a chance to see this wonderful show, plan on doing it this week.
Call to Artists/Craftspeople: The Gallery’s CHRISTMAS MARKET is coming soon. It will open on Friday, November 6th at noon and run until December 14th. So, we welcome any newcomers, or regular supporters to submit their art/crafts. Agreement sheets will be available upstairs on the Gallery bulletin board, at the top of the stairs, if you wish to fill them out beforehand.
Crafts will be accepted at the Gallery on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd and TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m., although items are always appreciated throughout the sale. This fund-raising event is an annual source of income to keep the Gallery running and assists in paying our bills. Your support through crafts and purchases is greatly appreciated.
Call to Christmas shoppers: Looking for a unique gift, locally made, and of great appeal! Plan on checking out the Christmas Market at the Pictograph Gallery, sometime from November 6th – December 14th, TUESDAY – SATURDAY, noon -3:00 p.m.
As a Board member, I am amazed at the talent in our small community, and as a Gallery we are fortunate to be able to display and sell for so many. As you know, the Gallery is volunteer-driven, and we are always in need of new people who can devote three hours/month in staffing the Gallery. If you are new to town, or just interested, please let one of our Board members know – Lori McCluskey, Cecile Davidson, Andrea Allison, Val Fraser, Phyllis Mosley or myself, Chris Spilchuk. Messages can also be left on our phone at 597-4344.
