Valerie Fraser The Pictograph fundraising silent art, antique, collectible auction went very well last week. Thanks to some amazing donations and volunteers helping to accommodate extended hours to assist frequent bidders. A special thank you goes out to Karen Van Doorne for providing us with a wonderful door prize. Amazing treasures went to successful bidders. Did you get outbid? The enthusiasm was contagious, vintage kitchen items, glass milk bottle, Coalport pitchers, oil and watercolor paintings, prints, wood carving, pottery, perfume bottles, antique dresser, cain chair and more made up the vignette setting. Congratulations to the girls that created this inspirational setting, giving a nod to yesteryear. Anne Siciliano's exhbit "A Splash of Color" opened Saturday May 3. The Pictograph Art Gallery and Anne are appreciative of the assistance from the Ontario Arts Council in making this exhibit possible. Anne never ceases to amzae us with her effervescent personality and talent. Her style of painting seems effortless and free, as she has mastered techniques that allow the paper and paint to create wonderful work. Vibrant colors offering depth and light to her paintings. Enjoy the exhibit from May 3 - May 23. A core group of watercolor painting enthusiasts will get more expert instruction from Anne the weekend of May 22, 23 at the Pioneer Centre. Always a much anticipated weekend, I beleive the pre-booked annual workshop is full with participants, but do feel free to contact The Pictograph Art Gallery to express your interest to join the group in the event that someone is unable to attend, we will be happy to offer assistance. Phone 597-4344. The month of May is shaping up to be a very busy one.
