Valerie Fraser The Board Members of the Pictograph Gallery are busy preparing for the next exhibit "Quilted Memories" and have a very special invitation to our readers. We are creating an exhibit of very special quilts. Now, we have done local quilt exhibits before by the Quilt Guild, the quilts are all very special and past exhibits have always been received with rave reviews... this exhibit is a little different. We have received some beautiful works to show and felt it important to let everyone know that we can make room for more. We are asking you to bring us your very special quilted memories. It may have been a gift, it may be a family heirloom, new or very old, sentimental, a wedding or anniversary gift, a group quilt, your husbands or child's favourite quilt (that is if they will give it up for 3 weeks), any kind of hand quilted memories. Quilts tell a story, we are interested in your stories. If you or someone you know own any type of textile art you would like to see on public display for others to enjoy, please contact Christine Spilchuk by April 3 at 597-6569 to arrange pick up. Do hurry though; Chris is waiting to hear from you this week. this very beautiful display "Quilted memories" will be at the Gallery from April 4 - April 25th. Another immediate deadline looms with our watercolour workshop by Thunder Bay artist Evelyn Konrad. Registrations are to be received with full payment of $90.00 by April 1. The Gallery is closed this week; therefore Andrea Allison has volunteered to accommodate you for registration. Kindly contact her by phone at 597-2554 or email at allisona@tbaytel.net. Spaces are filling up fast, with a few remaining. The workshop dates are April 17, 18 & 19th, takes place in the AEDO. Evelyn will be covering waterscapes, landscapes and floral, other subject matter will be explored depending on audience interest. To view her beautiful work visit www.konradwatercolours.com We bid farewell to Marianne Kyryluk and her wonderful interactive exhibit "Within Our Grasp" this past Saturday. The touring exhibit will be showcased next in Sioux Lookout. Individuals from distant locations in Canada experienced "Within Our Grasp" at The Pictograph Gallery during March and wonder if Marianne plans to tour the country. A possibility Marianne had lightly considered with her full schedule as she completes her studies in Art History at Lakehead University, and the required hands on....pardon the pun, of the exhibit, never say never, British Columbia and Alberta could be "Within Our Grasp" Okay, to recap, phone numbers and dates to remember are Chris Spilchuk - for Quilted Memories at 597-6569 by April 3rd, and Andrea Allison - for Evelyn Konrad watercolour workshop at 597-2554 by April 1. Operators are standing by.
Thank you for stopping in to see our Gallery and Gift Shop.
We hope you enjoyed your visit and will return.
