Valerie Fraser
Our current exhibit "A Stranger In Paradise" by Mark Nisenholt is drawing to a close. If you have not had the opportunity to take in Mark's exhibit you still have until this Saturday Jan. 31 to enjoy his works. Current day technology introduces variouse new art forms such as the digital and computer driven art evident in this exhibit. It is anyone's guess what exciting possibilities the future holds in the way of technology for the art world. One thing for certain is that artistic merit exists in this new era of technology, giving birth to new expression and creativity to artists. Wish I had a crystal ball that I may fast forward to an aspiring techno artists exhibit in 2020.

The Pictograph Art Gallery will be closed from Feb. 1 until Feb. 6 to set up yet another great exhibit. You are in for a treat on Feb. 7, when we re-open with a wonderful exhibit by Cher Pruys of Devlon, Ontario. Pilots and aviation buffs take note: this one is especially for you. Chers subject matter specializes in "Aviation Art" in Northwestern Ontario where she lives, and is still home to many of the aerial workhorses she loves to portray. Cher's artistic vision is to be able to produce works that give us a glimpse of our past and to pay homage to the men and women whose involvement in the aviation field led to the development of our country, especially the north. She is honored to have spent time listening to tales told to her by elderly aviators as well as looking through old photos, an experience she describes as priceless, bringing these life stories to life with her brush.

It is our honour to present works by Cher Pruys, an experience we know you will find priceless. Join us Saturday Feb. 7, at 1:00 p.m., to meet Cher for the opening of this exhibit.
