Saturday May 25th 12:00 p.m. is the opening of Luke Nicols' exhibit Quetico Landscape. Growing up in Thunder Bay, Luke has been attracted to Lake Superior since completing his BFA at Lakehead University. He has been working as a professional artist with a strong focus on waterand shoreline. He also has been exploring the visual properties of Lake Superior for nearly eight years. He uses a combination of painting and photography to create vivid realistic depictions of Lake Superior.
Come down to the Pictograph Gallery on the 25th of May between 12 pm. and 3 p.m. to meet the artist and get an insight to the work he has created.
While in the gallery check out the gift shop. There may be a birthday or anniversary or some event coming up for someone and this would be the perfect time to purchase that unique gift.
The Pictograph Gallery sells the varied works of local and regional artists and crafts people in its Gift Shop and at the various fundraising events which are held throughout the year. Among these items you will find such things as pottery, basketry, jewelry needlecraft, wood carvings, greeting cards just to name a few.
We have been restocked with Beth Coulas cards. There are three new designs and many return favourites including Solo (solo canoeist with the dog) and the one of the Moose.
The Gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. and located in the lower level of the Voyageur Mall.
